Game Cancellation Policy and Procedures
 

Games are only to be cancelled due to rain / inclement weather!

The Home Team is responsible for notifying SRA's Chief Umpire (Mike Sheets), and the Commissioner; Bill Morehead for Baseball games, or Chuck Bauer for Softball games.   Notification should be given at least 1 hour prior to the start of any scheduled game or within a reasonable amount of time in the event of weather. Home Team must also notify Concessions (Chris Kennedy) when games are cancelled.

No-calls and disregard for his policy will NOT be acceptable or tolerated by SRA given it costs our organization and it's members  $$$$. 

This is the order in which the home team is to place the phone calls:

PHONE NUMBERS TO CALL:

1. Mike Sheets (Umpires):    Cell 817-6810, Home 356-1207

2. If you cannot reach Mike, Call Ray Todd (SRA VP) Cell 876-6091, H 238-2144.

3. Chris Kennedy (Concession): Cell (757) 810-8463

4. Bill Morehead (Baseball Commissioner) :   Cell (757) 371-3888    

OR

   Chuck Bauer (Softball Commissioner) : Cell 636-7368

4. Susan Hedgepeth (Field Assignment): Cell (757) 567-5511, Home (757) 357-0318

** EVERY COACH SHOULD HAVE THESE NUMBERS SAVED/STORED IN THEIR CELL PHONES SO THEY CAN CALL US FROM THE FIELD IF/WHEN NECESSARY!

Policy for Scheduling Makeup Games at Beale Park

A. If a game is cancelled or needs to be rescheduled, the home team is responsible for calling the Umpire in Chief (Mike Sheets). 

B. Home team is responsible for calling Susan Hedgepeth to reschedule.  At that time you will be provided with two make-up dates to pick from.  The home team then needs to contact the visiting team and pick one of the dates.  (There is a 72 hour window for the visiting team to respond).  Home team then needs to let Susan know which date was chosen.  Susan is responsible for calling Mike Sheets/Ray Todd to set up umpires for the game.

C. Home team is responsible for contacting Concessions (Chris Kennedy). 

Note: Make-up games take priority over practices.  In the event that the practice has to be moved, Susan will call and let the team know.
